⁠I've heard the saying "Misery Loves Company" time and time again. And it is so true. ⁠⠀

Throughout my whole life I've had the tendency to choose my company poorly. ⁠⠀

Time after time people betrayed me, hurt me, went behind my back. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
I couldn't understand why this kept happening. But, when I think back on it now it's so clear.⁠⠀

I was a piece of shit. So it only made sense that the people who surrounded me were pieces of shit as well.⁠⠀

At first it made me bitter and angry. But then I realized that if I want better people around me, then I need to be a better person myself. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
After 4 years of constant work on myself and personal growth I have surrounded myself with some of the best people I've ever met, to this day. ⁠⠀

Now don't get me wrong, I still make mistakes and have to deal with shitty people, but not like I used to.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
There will always be wolves dressed in sheep's clothing out there. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
What's important is keeping an eye out for them and making sure to avoid them. We don't need people like that in our lives. ⁠⠀
