Dividend : Is the payment whereby a company pays her shareholders when the company makes profit. Usually quarterly or annually.
Zino a promising young lady and some dream catching ladies invested their savings in SamOraclegraphz. SamOracle the owner of the firm made a promise that everyone who invested would receive a dividend annually if and only if the firm makes profit.
Initially, Zino and the other young ladies were excited. Subsequently, after three months, she wasn't and couldn't wait impatiently for the firm to make more profits. Zino visited the firm frequently asking for her dividend. Although the owner of the firm vividly explained to Zino that dividends are not paid monthly, daily or weekly, rather only after profits are made and the financial year ends, Zino refuses to wait, saying that she can't wait for so a long time.
She went to the other ladies who also invested in the firm. She tries to convince them to join her, but they bluntly refuse, why? because they really understood how dividends work.
Zino thought she was being cheated, withdrew her investment and went on spending the money on things not necessary and living a luxury lifestyle. Months later, her well of honey dried and the firm in the other hand made a huge profit, which attracted foreign investors as well. All those that invested and waited patiently received large dividends.
When the news got to Zino, she made regret her breakfast, lunch and supper. She realized that if she had waited patiently, she as well would have received a handsome reward. Instead, impatience rape her of the opportunity.
Zino came to say that "Dividends are paid from profits, and one can only enjoy the benefits of investment if only you can wait patiently.
