Greetings!
According to the book 2 cor 9:7 and as analysed by bro. Eli, christian are to be a cheerful giver and not the one that gives grudgingly to the things of God.
Bro. Eli emphasized giving to the work of God as an act of willingness. He said, people ought to give out of their free will and be limited to a percentage of their earnings.
He also talked about the old Levites, the chief priest of old who was not as immortal as Jesus Christ, the new priest who lives forever.
He continued that, people like Moses and Aaron who represented the priest of old are not destined to live a continued life, but for our Lord Jesus who lives till eternity.
So, because of the change in the priesthood, he said the law also must be changed and it's the change in the law that brought the issue of tithe as said and analyzed by Bro. Eli.
He also reiterated that salvation is free and that nothing should be paid for salvation, but that if people are willing to pay for the work of God, then they are permitted.
In addition, Bro. Eli talked about the church in Macedonia and how they willingly give to the work of God. In the epistle according to the book of 2 Cor 8:1-3, Bro. Paul said he was a witness to how the church in Macedonia contributed towards the things of God.
So, in conclusion and in reference to the teaching of Bro. Eli, we christians must give willingly to the things of God without being forced or coerced to a style of giving.
Thanks for reading.
