Topic: Mind Mastery: The power of focus
The mind has the power to create whatever it wants, that is if you focus your energy on developing one particular stuff without looking left or right. Focus is what made Bill Gates rule the world through Microsoft and it is what made Jeff Bezos the wealthiest man in history with a value of $101.5 billion. It is focus that makes the successful successful and makes the great great. For one to focus, one must have a vision. Focus helps in achieving ones vision. As at May, 2017 I has only about 10 connection or so on LinkedIn and a program requested me I open or have a LinkedIn account which automatically made me to serious on the platform. Then I created a vision to reach at least 500 connection by the end of the year. To reach this target, I need to be focus without distraction from other social media handles. I started posting articles through the platform and meeting people. Articles is the best way for me to engage people. It was my strength. So I used my strength to attract connections, which is writing. So, to focus, you have to consider focusing on your strength not weakness. If you focus on your weakness, you might be building a wrong brand that you might hate in the future.
Moving forward, I met a whole lot of people that helped me in the process. Closed to the end of the year, I was nomintaed as LinkedIn Inspirational Author of the year by a friend and from there my followers skyrocketed and received over 300 connection request. I hit the mark of having over 500 connections.
Success comes to those who are focused, it will not come immediately but by keeping your sight on the goal, you will attain it. By the time it comes, you will be surprised. Because, it will come at once and in mass. However, I will like to takes us back to the topic, which is "Mind Mastery: The Secret of Focus"
What is Mind Mastery?
It is hacking the mind and bringing out the subconscious to attract one particular thing and with practice and focus, that particular stuff brings about innovation and creativity. The issue is when the mind is attract to many things, it will be difficult for it to focus. So it is very important we focus on one stuff and give our all to it and the subconscious will do the wonders.
Sometimes, we are our worse enemy.
What is Secret?
Something that is hidden, knowledge that is hidden, something not understood or known. A natural force yielding results.
What is focus?
A central point, as of Attraction, attention and activity.
It is very important as Valuable Ambassadors to find out our strength and focus on it. Identifying your strength is another topic on its own. But if you are involved in business or that's what you do- Focus.
Social Entrepreneurship- Focus
Inititative- Focus
Intrapreneurship- Focus!
No doubt! If you focus, you will become an authority and you will be consulted.

Dinner Party
Bill Gates Jr, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates Sr., we're at a dinner party. While they were chatting, one of the guests came up to them and asked this question; "You gentlemen are some of the most successful people in the world. What would you say is the most important ingredient for success today?" The three men stopped their conversation, turn to the guest and replied, simultaneously, "Focus"
Stay focus and avoid peripheral vision.
Peripheral vision is looking sideways when doing things i.e. the right and the left. You should always see the goal not the distraction at the left and right. The right and left contains criticism and cynical judgement from family, friends, spectators, increased profit from other businesses and sector. You should never give in to all those distractions.
It is just like you going to the boutique and you are on your way to buy a particular Jean from a particular boutique but on the way you saw other fine Jean. They are fine but they aren't really your taste and you see different people calling and forcing you to buy them. When you avoid peripheral vision, you narrow your vision. Removing what you see to your left and your right. You can't let your neighbors and competitors dictate what you will do next. The only thing you are seeing is what you want to create or achieve.
You have to be able to identify that your 20% that provides you 80% results. You have to identify that your 80 % efforts that provides you with just 20% results.
Successful people master one thing and be the best in that one thing, although they gather basic knowledge about other things but they are known for something. If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. What are you known for? The mind recognizes a focused person and it will treat you as focused but if you drift, it will treat you as drift. That’s why you see some people know many things and will continue to know many things without being successful. it’s because their mind stands for everything. Then, if you have no vision, you cannot focus. Focus breed confidence and it brings success. In the journey of living a successful life, being focused bring about the following;
Curiosity: You will always be on the creative zone and you have no choice than to keep improving. Why is Apple & IPhone products still in the market. It is because they focused on technology. Technology is their focus and driven force. So they kept improving in that space.
Confidence: You know much about what you do and you can talk about it anywhere. You become super loaded.
Creativity, Innovation and Inspiration: Inspiration comes to you naturally, which brings about expansion, creating new things, products and new ways of solving problems.
4. Legacy: Most great people preach focus. Martin Luther King Jr., on December 1956 said, "No work is insignificant. If a man is called a street sweeper, he should sweep streets as even as Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well."

Maya Angelou, Shakespeare, Thomas Edison and many great people were remembered for something because they focused.
What do you want to be remembered for?
The man who did many things and could not boast of any successful endeavor or the man who focused on a particular industry, dominated, break barriers in it and was remembered.
Hence, it is in your hands to remain focus!
Recently, I have had several career session with people and the problem is they are yet to master the power of focus and find the one thing...they can focus their mind on.
If you are multi talented and have many things to do.
Just prioritize and start with the most important and focus.
Imagine Aliko Dangote starting up sugar refinery at the same time with cement manufacturing and commodity trading. Would you think he would achieve anything?
No!
Hence focus, focus focus!
Look at your life and your work and define focus in one word. As for me it is "Liberation" everything I do is geared towards that. For Valuex "Information" "Value" "Exchange".....and so on.
So I want us;
Prioritize your task and focus on what is important.
Be consistent about what you are focus about.
Continue to improve, seek and be obsessed with improvement.
Be the best in what you are focus on...work so hard in it.
Dominate in what you have chosen to focus on.
Continue to engage the mind and feed it.
