The gift that someone gives to someone else may not be as important as the personality of the giver. The attitude with which you relate with people goes a long way to define your personality. This is the very reason why someone's gifts may be accepted but their personality may be rejected.

Some people consider "being rude" as being real and not faking. Believe me, no one likes rudeness. The other person that is being nice does not mean he does not also have a dark side. You would be surprised to know that everybody has a not-so-welcomed side, but keeping it at bay and giving expression to only your good side is entirely your choice.
Do not create the impression that your rudeness is a way to be "real". You can as well fake niceness until it becomes real, but by all means, try to always give expression to your good nature.
The truth is, capability is very good, but in most cases, availability is better - and this is a function of attitude. You may be capable to complete a task but if your attitude creates a non-availability for you, the available person will be preferred over you that has the ability.
Doing good, first of all, entails that you will be very present in the good that you do. If you attitude negates your good deeds, then your good deeds may not be appreciated. Doing good to someone does not mean you have to subject them to difficulties. You have the privileges to be a giver today, but it does not mean that the receiver cannot be the giver tomorrow - so stay cool.
It is worthy to note that your abilities, qualifications, etc, can get you to various positions and through certain doors, but to be able to maintain yourself in that position, you will need more than just your abilities. Your attitudes, your interpersonal relationship, your character will go a long way to define your future in that position.
Bad attitude is comparable to a deflated tire, you cannot make a headway until you have changed it. Even good looks and beautiful face is not as admirable as good attitude. Believe me, someone's face may not be pretty in the beholder's eyes, but if their attitude is user-friendly, they will be preferred over the one with beauty but nasty character.
