It is true that every human has a free will to make choices, but one thing to understand is that these choices do not come without obvious consequences. Yes, you may feel like doing a particularly thing, but have you considered the effect of that particular thing and the end-result? The truth is that humans can only determine their choices because that is what they have control of, but they cannot determine the effect of such choices. So choose wisely.

Even though making a choice is better than "no choice at all," but one should take caution when making their choices. If you can welcome the effects of an action you want to perform, then you can attempt to take the action. However, if you feel that you will be unwilling to welcome the consequences of a choice, then it is not necessary in the first place. When you are faced with two choice to choose from, you have to weigh both options holistically and know the one that has more advantages.
One thing that shows that someone is getting matured is their willingness and readiness to welcome the responsibility of their choices. A major part of what happens in the life of an individual is a function of the choices that they made. Obviously, the power that is embedded in choices is undeniable. As a matter of fact, people look like the choices they make, and of course, people are also products of their own choices. This is in affirmation to this popular quote:
The choice you make today is what ultimately makes you who you are tomorrow.
What you do or what you decide not to do (that is your action/inaction) is a matter of choice, so do not give excuses for them but take the responsibility. If you know that you will bear the full responsibility of what you are about to do, it will direct your actions to know what to do. The reason why people act the way they like or how they feel is because they feel they are not responsible for their actions. The truth is that even if you try to dodge the responsibility, you cannot dodge the consequences of the actions.
You may be given the power to determine your actions and your choices, but the power is limited to only that, it does not extend to determining the consequences. The actions of the time past are what heralded the results that are seen in the present. In a similar manner, the actions and choices of the present era will form part of the building blocks of the future. If you want to be met with a positive result in the future, you have to understand that it does not answer to luck. You should, as a matter of necessity, undertake positive actions and make the right choices today.
It is true that the choices of the past are beyond your direct power to edit or even influence, but you have today to make the choices that will positively impact on your future. You have to place your future under consideration before you take actions. However, one should also note that right actions do not just spring up, they are birthed out of right thoughts. So, it is thought first, then actions follows, which then culminates in results. So the choice should begin from choice of thoughts before choice of actions. Always have in mind that your actions are the truest reflection of your personality and your choices.

Choices and actions have incredible ability to alter the course of someone's life and can even go as far as affecting their surrounding environment - that is the power of choice. I made a statement to a friend in the course of the week. I cited the forthcoming general election as an example. I told him that he, and everyone else, have choices of who to cast their vote for, but if they do not vote for a credible candidate, they will have to deal with the consequences for four years. In the same way, your actions, which is your choice, is like planting a seed in the farm. Then the results and consequences are like the fruits. You do not have a choice of the fruit, but it is dependent on the seed sown. So always make the right choice.
