You will agree with me that nothing of value is delivered absolutely free. There must be an attached value or price that you will have to pay. This is because value (or worth) is a byproduct or function of cost. Everything that adds value to you or to someone else is always at a cost. When you give someone something that they did not labour for on a platter of gold, there may be a propensity that they will not value it. But when they pay for it, they will value every bit of it. If you want to attain the prize tomorrow, then you must have to willingly and intentionally pay the required price.

Each time you desire to achieve anything of value, you have to also ask yourself what you are supposed to do to get it. It is worthy to note that the bigger the glory you seek, then the heavier the sacrifices you have to make. Some of these sacrifices will have to involve time, resources, investment, etc. In farming for example, you know that it does not take days to cultivate and harvest mango - it actually takes years. But when you start to harvest, it will be continuous for every season. Unlike the maize that may take months but you can only harvest once from a plant. So in life, if you desire greatness, you will also be willing to sacrifice time and be patient.

Among paying the price of today is building up yourself to face what lies ahead. The more you invest in developing yourself, the more ready you are for eventualities, and the more you can face what will come against you. Take an instance: when you know extensively about something, the easier you will achieve that. This is why I believe that among the crucial prices you need to pay today is the price of knowledge. Trust me, there is no knowledge you pay for today that will not pay you tomorrow. Nothing is ever wasted that is invested into acquiring knowledge. Of course, knowledge builds one up and that also means they can achieve more with little.

Before you envy someone because of what they have achieved in life, try to find out the sacrifices they have made to get to where they are. If you will be able to do what they did and pay the price they did, then you have positioned yourself to attain their level of height. Of course, the secret behind the glory you see in anyone can be gotten from the story of the price they have to pay. So instead of asking for something to be done for you, it will be better and worthwhile to ask to be shown what to do in order to achieve the same thing. This will also put responsibilities on you.

Anyone that does not want to pay the full price of success has excluded themself from partaking from success. It is true that it might not be easy at first, but it will definitely be worth it at the end. There are some prices that are better paid willingly, because not paying it will actually open the person up to a far intense price. Take knowledge as in instance: anyone that thinks knowledge is expensive has not tried ignorance. There is nothing you pay to acquire knowledge that will not be cheaper than not acquiring knowledge.

One of the things you should also know is that in life, and in the journey to your success, there will be demands for risks. Of course, risk is an integral part of living, and nothing worthwhile can be gotten without taking risks. On the same hand, it carries a potentially far bigger risk when you do not take the necessary risks of life. Whatever you do in life, you have to understand that you stand to risk more when you stop yourself from taking risks. You will not know what a cave holds for you until you have explored it. But more times than none, people are so afraid of stepping out of their comfort zone. If they know that the cave they are so much afraid to explore might hold the key to the desires they seek, they will take the required risks according.

The bigger the risk you have to take and the more the price you are to pay, the bigger what you stand to gain is. This is why I believe that prize and price are mutually dependent and directly propositional to each other. Each time you are to take actions, you have to ask yourself the effect of such actions in the future. If it will not add positively to your future, then it is not worth it. I conclude with this saying by a friend:

Actions are like seeds, sow them wisely.
