Whatever you make to happen for someone else is also caused to happen for you. You cannot be seeking for the happiness of others and not encounter your own happiness. Obviously, when you smile to someone for example, there is a high tendency for the person to smile back. Life is not supposed to be difficult, it is only humans that want to make it difficult. If you have in your mind to make your fellow human to be happy, happiness will also be spread in your heart. You will agree with me that there is a level of happiness that comes when you know that someone is happy because of you.

There are many ways of creating happiness in the life of others. For example; your gifts and sacrifices to them. I know that someone must has given you a gift that you never expected before, how did you feel about it? Obviously happy. This same feeling can also be replicated in others when you extend a hand of goodness to them. You will be surprised how the seemingly little gift that you give to someone or an act of goodness can create a ripple effect of joy in someone's heart. You can make it a point of duty to show acts of kindness to some random people everyday.
The truth is that even if you do not have material things to give, there are many things you can give. Like an advice, a support, a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, etc. The world is growing in insensitivity that a little act of kindness may be all that will be required to make someone feel happy and make their day better. Many people are experiencing intense times that they may crack further if you deny them of the help that you can afford. You will agree with me that when someone tells you "thank you" because of your acts of goodness or your help, there is a level of happiness that is released within you. This happiness is not because of the "thank you" itself but because of the reminder that you have been of a help to the person.
Self-happiness is good but a higher level of happiness can be gotten by making others to be happy. This ia why it has been said that the act of creating happiness in others is a higher form of happiness. If people around you are always sad or if people become worse after they have met you, then you should ask yourself some serious questions about what is wrong. One thing to also have in mind is that you can only pour water from a tank that has water, not an empty tank. So you cannot give happiness or create happiness in others if you are not a happy soul.

More often than not, it does not cost much to make others to be happy through our good acts. Something little and seemingly negligible can be what it may require to create happiness in others, you only need sensitivity to be able to determine it. A few days back, I entered a shop to buy a few things and just as I was making purchases, a woman walked in looking very tired and I could tell that she was telling the shop attendant something. The sad look on her face drew my attention. When I came close, I overheard her begging the attendant for a favour.
I had to come into the discussion to ask what the matter was. She narrated how she entered the shop to buy a sachet water to drink because she had stood for long under the hot sun but the attendant would not sell to her because she does not have change. The water goes for 20 of the local currency, while she had a 1000 note of the local currency. At that point, I reached out to my pocket and gave the attendant the money and the woman was offered the water. After drinking, she looked at me with a heartfelt smile and said "thanks." This made me happy that I have made someone happy. The water does not cost anything, but it was necessary at that moment.
It may be something very small that may create the impact in someone's life. If someone is thirsty for example, you cannot motivate him to quench his thirst, neither will a bottle of champagne be preferred, but something as simple as a glass of water will be all that will be required to make them happy. At each point in life, always endeavour to be a blessing to someone around you, because that is what makes us humans and that is what humanity represents.
