There are some people that when they get angry, you will be shocked at the utterances that come out of their mouth. Most times, after saying the whole lot of what they have to say, they will come back to regret it. But the truth of the matter is that even if you regret the words that you say in anger, you cannot erase such words and they may constantly be in the mind of the person who they are said to. This is why you need to apply caution when you speak, especially when your emotions are heightened as in anger.

It is true that anger may be normal, obviously provocation will arise due to many factors like conflict in ideas, disagreement in opinions, unwelcomed actions, etc, but how you manage the anger and what you do or say in such situation is more important than what led to the anger. What got you angry may go away, but your reactions will linger for a very long time. A lot of friendships have been broken, not because of offences but because of how the offences were managed in anger. What you say in anger is a true reflection of you and of what goes on in your mind.

It is only from what you have inside of your mind that you can say even when angry. If you get a bottle of beer and shake it vigorously and open, it will pop out. What will pop out from the bottle will definitely be beer because that is the content of the bottle. You cannot shake a bottle of beer and what will pop out will be champagne. In the same way, what you let out of your mouth shows who you are. This is why you have to feed your mind with healthy and positive thoughts rather than the things which, if you say, will make you to regret later.

It is weird to see people giving excuses for the nasty words they say out of anger as "I was just being real," or "I do not know how to do pretense." You can get angry and even express the anger without being rude. You do not just say anything because you have the ability to talk, but think of the consequences of what you are about to say. It is worthy to note that everyone has the propensity of saying negative and unwelcomed things while angry, but why is it that you are the only one saying it? This is because others made a choice to put their mouth under subjection; you too can.

The words you speak have the proclivity to make or mar you. It is true that you can be justified by what you say. But in the same way, you can also be condemned by what you say, so be cautious. There was a particular statement someone made to a friend of mine during an argument. At first, I did not read meaning in it, but after a while, I thought about it and saw that it was deeper than it appeared and was actually more of a threat than a regular statement that people make in anger. At that point, I drew the attention of my friend to it. Whether he meant it or not, I still advised him to be careful with the guy and to watch his back. Good a thing, he made him sign an Undertaking with the police because of the threat. If he had watched his speech, all these would have been avoided.

Story was told of two intending couples that later got separated a few weeks to their wedding. What happened was that both of them were in an angry situation and maybe out of anger or otherwise, the lady made this statement; "wait let us finish with wedding first and I will show you." The man processed it as a threat and said to himself "if what I am seeing now is like this, I wonder what she will show me after wedding." That was how he called off the wedding and ran for his dear life. This goes to prove that wrong words spoken out of anger has the proclivity to wreck unimaginable damage.

Whenever you are angry, pause for a while before you speak. No matter how offended you are, do not allow your mouth to be faster than your brain. You may feel that you have the freedom to speak whatever you like, but think about the freedom after speech; that particular freedom may not be guaranteed.
