Mgbe onye jiri teta ura ga aburu ya ututu - [Naija proverb]

This is a popular proverb in the Southeastern part of Nigeria, particularly the Igbos. It means that whenever someone wakes up from sleep will become their morning. This simply implies that when someone decides to start to pursue after something will mark the fresh start for the person.

A point may come in the life's journey of someone where they will realize that continuing in a particular track will become futile in the long run and the only solution is to take a u-turn and start afresh. The truth is, no matter how long you have been on the wrong road, it will not make it right or change it to the right road. As a matter of fact, the more you progress in the wrong road, the more it becomes futile. Starting again is not a bad thing because this time, you have enough experience at your disposal to start well.

Imagine if someone starts driving from Enugu (Southeast Nigeria) and facing Onitsha, no matter the speed he is racing with, he will not arrive at Abuja (Northern Nigeria). To arrive at Abuja, he needs to make a u-turn and face the right route. In the same way, there are some errors that can only be corrected by starting afresh.

The early someone leaves the wrong route, the earlier they will arrive at their destination on the right route. Some people may look at how much resources they may have spent and it will discourage them from starting afresh, but the truth is, continuing in errors does not make you right.
Trust me, even though your first impression may not be worthwhile, there is still another opportunity to create a worthwhile first impression and to redeem yourself. No doubt, people may have gone ahead of you when you start afresh but do not allow it to discourage you from starting and making things right. The lost times can be gained back with speed and precision.

The good thing about starting again is, first, you already have experiences and not as a novice. Then secondly, you will be sure to get things right this time. Always remember that it is never late to make the right turn.
