The world is evolving daily, as science, engineering and other spheres of society tries to bridge the gap between time and space. Beating time and space brings us into a sphere referred to as global village. This global village concept is gaining grounds daily and more time and space is being bridge.
Global Village Concept
You cannot talk about global village without talking about computer, internet and other electronic media. Acording to webster dictionary, global village is defined as;
the world viewed as a community in which distance and isolation have been dramatically reduced by electronic media (such as television and the Internet).
With telephone and other telecommunication devices, we can interact with people and things millions of miles away, we can be present at different locations of the world at the same time. This has help reduce some of the limitations of both space and time. Years back, we had to travel for days, just to pass information or transact business in other cities. Even letter posting takes days to deliver and also to get reply, man was mostly aware of happenings in his environment, he is lock from news and other activities happening in other parts of the world.
To everything that has advantage comes a disadvantage, like the saying there is always a second side to every coin. With the ease of operations and transactions that come with global village concept, comes many disadvantages. Internet scam is a product of this concept, as we save time and space through internet, many are loosing same daily. The internet is now a major source of fund sink as millions are lost on the click of a mouse.
I've been without mobile gadget for months, this is a product of our lovely global village concept. Haven made some cool fund on Steemit some months back, I decided to get a gadget to help improve my steemit experience. As an internet inclined person, I chose to bridge the gap of space to order a gadget from China (aliexpress), a country in a different continent from mine. It's months now and I'm yet to get my gadget or a refund. I could have gotten a gadget at a distance away from my house.
As we share some testimonies from the benefits of this concept, the disadvantages are being neglected daily and more loss is being incurred by the internet frisks, leaving novice as prey to this disadvantages.
