※ Black Panther is a worldwide box office success as in cinema critics. And for good reason, it combines all the ingredients to entertain us: scenes of combat and romance, a correct scenario and sufficiently developed characters. The sets, costumes, landscapes and soundtrack do everything to immerse us in this universe.
It is a visually very beautiful film even if I found that the scenery of the dueling scenes was cheap. The film mixes well the African tribal side as well as the futuristic side of Wakanda. I really enjoyed discovering T'Challa speak to his father by mystical means under African landscape background. These passages reminded me of the Lion King. Atmosphere! In short, landscapes like special effects are very successful, especially when we discover the Wakanda by air.
Black Panther is the first true superhero movie with a cast almost exclusively composed of people of color. We see in particular the actress Danai Gurira who plays Michonne in The Walking Dead. The production took the opportunity to wink at the series: Danai Gurira plays Okoye, a bald female character who during the movie complains of a wig that simulates the fact of having long hair.
Let's continue with the male actors this time. I found Chadwick Boseman, the awesome lead actor. He plays the role of T'Challa perfectly. Daniel Kaluuya (who received the Oscar for best actor in 2017 for his role in Get Out) like Michael B. Jordan impressed me with their interpretation. I wish them a long and beautiful career to all three!
In short, Black Panther is a good movie, not a masterpiece but a good entertainment to watch with family or friends. This first installment of the adventures of the Black Panther is part of the blockbusters of 2018 that should not be missed.
The American film producer Kevin Feige announced in October 2014 that a film about Black Panther should be released around November 2017. The release date is postponed from 2015 to July 2018, and finally released on February 16, 2018 in the USA.
The film was shot in Georgia at Pinewood Studios, Sweet Auburn and Atlanta City Hall. Other more exotic scenes were shot in Argentina, at the Iguazú Falls.
In the comics, Black Panther was married to Ororo Munroe aka Twister X-men.
If, like me, you find that the actors playing T'chaka, T'Challa's father in the present and during flashbacks, it's just that they are father and son in real life. If the South African actor John Kani plays T'Chaka at the present time, it is Atandwa Kani, also actor, who plays the same role but in the flashbacks.
Actor Michael B. Jordan who plays Killmonger played The Torch in the Fantastic Four of 2015 as Chris Evans (Saga Captain America) who played the same role in two films in 2005 and 2007. He had already worked with the showrunner Ryan Coogling in Creed. These are not the only actors to have played two superheroes: Ben Affleck played Daredevil and Batman; Ryan Reynolds played Green Lantern but also Deadpool. For that, they went from Marvel to DC and vice versa.
As usual, Stan Lee made an appearance as a poker player in Busan South Korea during the film.
