Wbtc is the same as calling exchanges a scaling layer which to be fair can be. But I assure you that not the way one wants.
Renbtc is decent peg but instead will still have the scaling problem along with tbtc. Not really scaling solutions either for bitcoin it just the shift of the bitcoin from centralized exchanges to "decentralized" ones. The returns are higher so why leave it on a regular exchange :P
