Union between two individuals or better said two lovers who have mutually agreed and consented to spend the rest of their lives together and has been overseen by a traditional ruler, imam, pastor or a court and has been issued a certificate is what we call marriage and there are preferences to choose from, so what is your marriage preferences?. To me I will go with the church wedding as I am a Christian even though am aware that being a Christian does not necessarily mean that you must wed in the church, but that's my preference
Looking at the kind of marriage's one can choose from, I ask myself "why do others choose court or traditional weddings even though they are believers and the have a religion?, then I figured at the end it comes down to the matter of choice. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against those choosing otherwise and even I feel in Africa we may be deviating from some of our cultural way of marriage where both lovers meet their respective parents for approval and their blessings, follow by the payment of dowry and the provision of the necessities requested by the parents from the man and then boom that's it, you have your wife to take home

But that's by the way, am not a too religious person but I believe in the ethics of the church and the fact that you go for guidance and counseling when you both have agreed to spend the rest of your life together and of cause getting a marriage certificate from the church but most importantly the part that thrills me is when I get to stand in the church waiting as my wife walks down the aisle being escorted by her father or guidance beautifully in her wedding dress to the man of her dreams (in this case thats me, chuckles) to take care of her forever

To me I feel the church wedding is my preferred choice to court weddings, because I feel all the proceedings that are being done in church like the prayer from the pastors, the teaching from the scripture (even though you can still read it on your own at any time or day before the wedding day), the support from family, friends and well wishers seated in the congregation and also the desire of my parents to see such a day and such a moment also has an influence in my decision for church wedding
Court weddings to me feels like a contractual marriage that mostly involves deals and agreements rather than pure genuine love. I know that nowadays alot of guys are trying to protect their assets from gold diggers that is ladies that choose to marry you because of your assets and not love so that the will divorce you later and claim half of it leaving you in ruins and devastated. When you cannot trust the woman you want to marry to truly spend the rest of her life with you, then why marry her?, when there are conditions to follow before we get married that I have to abide to or my wife has to abide by that will restrict either of us from truly enjoying the blessings of marriage and being together, then I prefer not to even engage myself
But that's me by the way because just as I prefer church wedding, others might prefer court weddings or traditional weddings to be their ideal wedding. But you see ehhh, that moment when you see your bride with her father approaching you and she's smiling at you and your heart tends to beat faster as if that is the first time your seeing her or the fact that she looks more beautiful than ever that day, that is the most unforgettable thrill and joy one can ever get on a special day like that
I hope I didn't blab too much about my ideal marriage, though this is just me being me
