I was incredibly inspired this week when I saw photos taken by my friend, Brian Mack, fellow Instagrammer and Facebook friend. He had been down at Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur and found purple sand in the stream's run-off after the recent rains...PURPLE SAND!!!
I got his permission to experiment with his images in my digital pattern/design making. (I'm getting better...I usually steal first then ask for forgiveness after I show the photographer what cool stuff I made from their pic. ;) )
Here is what I came up with...
This design I took into Photoshop for some extra tweaking but all of the rest are au naturale.
I know this one is more appropriate for #saturdayindigo but I simply had to share it with its siblings.
I am wondering if you see what I see in this one. I don't want to lead the witness so just leave me a comment below and we will compare notes later.
On another subject, I really like how the deep purple parts look knitted.
I must admit, I'm not a huge fan of pastels but this one is an exception. I think the interesting geometry trumps my color preferences. It has a strong Incan feel to it, don't you agree?
Here is the Master at work. He is usually into landscape and portrait photography so it is good to see him going macro.
Thanks Brian, for providing such a vibrant jumping off place for me. I think I came up with enough designs (40 in all) to start a fashion line in your honor!
