Ten years ago
Ten years ago, in 2013, I had a terrible haircut.
I was 16 years old, I had already finished 5th year of high school, I had pretty long hair. I wanted a change of look, which consisted of cutting my hair down to my shoulders.
I raised the money to go to the salon, just for the haircut, because I had my own hair straightener and I could do it at home.
I went to the salon, and told the hairdresser that I wanted a shoulder-length haircut. She wet my hair and put it in a shoulder length ponytail, and cut it above my shoulder, grabbed the hair that was in the ponytail and put it where the blow dryers go.
When I looked in the mirror, my hair was wet and quite short, about 2 or 3 fingers below where my ears end, that is, it was well above my shoulders. I was shocked and left quickly because I wanted to iron it and see if it was really that short or if it was just because it was wet, and if it would be a little longer than I was seeing.
When I got home, I straightened my hair with the iron, and yes, it was very short. I looked very ugly, I started crying, I didn't want anyone to see me. I lasted a long time going out strictly as much as necessary because I really didn't want anyone to see me with my hair that short, I lasted a long time feeling very ugly.
My consolation was that my hair was going to grow. In the picture I show you I already had quite long hair (compared to how I had it) and it was this length that I wanted the cut, and I was no longer embarrassed to take pictures of myself.
Having a bad haircut affected me, I felt ugly for a long time, I had to flat iron my hair a lot because the natural hair looked much worse and I damaged it a lot because of that, so I had to learn to do natural remedies to help it, what I used the most was aloe vera and avocado.
After it grew out, I left long periods without flat ironing it because I wanted to stop mistreating it, that bad haircut had many consequences.
