I was in the orphan system, my mother had past away from lung cancer. she was a heavy smoker. i was about 12, and sitting on the stiff cot. the owner of the orphanage I was in at that time, ( I had been bouncing from orphanage to orphanage) opened the door, and a tall man, dressed in formal clothes, a suit and tie, dress shoes walked in. the owner told him that I was one of the most well behaved children, and that i would be a great addition to a family, or to start one. The man walked over to me, and crouched down next to me, "what's your name son?" "Edward" i replied shyly. the man stood up, looked at the owner, and asked where the paperwork was. I still remember the feeling of relief, now that I am 27. It felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off of my chest. i burst into tears, right as the door shut. about 45 minutes later, the man walked back into the room, and took my hand. he lead me to his car, a sleek Mercedes Benz. he let me sit in the front. we drove away, without saying goodbye. but I had no friends there anyways. as we drove, I saw the restaurant that we always passed when the orphanage went to the park down the road. I said to the man, "Hey, can we stop for food there? im hungry." he looked at me, with a . tear in his eye, and said "hi hungry, I'm Dad."
