皆さん、こんにちは。メルボルンはすっかり暖かくなり、30℃超える日もあります。もう夏もそこまで来ています。
先日、酒屋で偶然マンゴー・ビールを発見しました。パッケージだけ見ると外国からの輸入ビールかと思いましたが、よく見るとオーストラリア産のビールのようです。早速買って帰りました。
なぜラベルに｢生｣と漢字で書いてあるのか分かりませんが、英語以外の文字を使うのはカッコイイと思うんでしょうね。
I came across MANGO BEER at a local liquor shop. I guessed it was an imported beer from Southeast Asia at first glance, but I found out it was produced in Western Australia.
The letter of '生' which refers to 'fresh' and 'draft' would stands out on a label.
This beer is made with a 100% natural mango blend, it's easy drinking style.
It was very tasty, I am not a fan of flavoured beer though. It's so refreshing to drink this beer on a hot summer day.
家に帰って、飲んでみるとマンゴーの味がビールの苦さとよく合います。このビールは夏の暑くて日差しの強い日に飲むと、より一層美味しく感じるだろうな⋯と思いました。
10月中旬頃から、青果店やスーパーにはマンゴーが並び始め、もう夏もそこまで来ているんだなと感じることができます。
オーストラリアで販売されているマンゴーは主に、国内の赤道に近い地域で栽培されています。赤道近くの地域は常夏で、パプアニューギニア、インドネシアやフィリピンに近いのです。
オーストラリアでは、マンゴーをそのまま食べる、スムージーやデザートに入れる、他の野菜と一緒にサラダとして食べる、屋外でのバーベキューの時に肉、ソーセージ、魚介類を食べたあとの口直しとして食べる⋯と色々な楽しみ方があります。
真夏はマンゴー1箱 (12個入り)が10ドル(約820円)で買えることもあります。夏が来るのが楽しみです。
I realise that summer is coming when the mangoes have arrived at supermarkets and vegetable shops.
Mangoes are grown in the tropical and sub-tropical regions in Australia.
All in my family love to eat mangoes. They are quick and easy to prepare. Mangoes are versatile, delicious snack by themselves, perfectly with salad, thrown on BBQ, smoothies and sweet desserts.
Mango's my favorite fruit so far, I can't help buying and eating it.
