Good day to everyone reading this. Since a couple of days ago, I have been busy as we are about to start fieldwork for my university. It is mandatory for every student to take part in this service as it is part of our academic calendar. We are usually transported to rural areas in our country to engage with them for at least a month so that we can collect important data about the community with regard to their development. Due to the impact of COVID-19, we have not been able to offer this service for the past two years. Now, it is my group's turn. We are made up of nine members from different departments, and all of us will have to contribute to the fieldwork with the knowledge that we have gained from our faculty.
The pictures above were taken on Saturday, February 22nd, 2022. We departed from our campus around 12 pm UTC with our school bus, and we got to the village around 3 pm, a 3-hour journey. The community's name is Dasabligo, in the Upper East Region of Ghana. We were stranded for about two hours until the assembleman of the community returned from the market and offered us accommodation for our stay in the community. I like the nature of the place. Although I am yet to learn more about the whole community, so far our main challenges are the poor telecommunication network and electricity coverage.
We were able to play a football match with the community boys the next day, but unfortunately on our side, we were defeated and I, in particular, had a minor injury. Hence, I couldn't participate in most of the activities yesterday, but I am now feeling a bit of relief.
