'My best friend’s chibi form' - Authentic Digital Illustration

Hello guys! How are you? I hope fine.

And yes the title says itself about what my today’s illustration is. As I have mentioned somewhere in the last post I have been dreaming of gaining the skills of drawing chibi and the main reason behind this was to draw my bestie in chibi form. Also, I envy her height but I still adore her. We have been besties for more than 10 years by now and hope it goes on like this. I sent her this chibi form art of her and she loved it. So let’s begin! Before we begin, I wanted to let you guys know that I have done this illustration in ibispaint x.

Yeap, that’s her! First, the sketch is done. I think I will start with the eyes first.

Okay guys, for those who are struggling to color anime eyes which I use to but not anymore. Here I am going to show you step by step image by image to show you. First color the whole eyes with a color then used an airbrush tool. I repeat airbrush. It helps you avoid the annoying blending. Then with the airbrush shade, the upper part of the eyes with the darker shade of the color and use a light shade at the bottom of the eyes.

Next is the center part of the eyes. Okay, guys don’t use black color to draw or color the center of the eyes. Use the darkest gray color to color the center of the eyes then put that layer in multiplied effect. This will blend perfectly with the eyes.

Then draw a little white dot to represent the light in the eyes.

A little more light in the eyes but this one is blended with the eyes. Either you can use the lightest shade of the color and draw a circle in the light part of the eyes which is the lower part of the eyes or you can use the white color to draw the circle and put that layer in multiplied and lower its opacity. I used the first method.

Next is simple, color the hair.

Here I colored the skin and shaded it with an airbrush.

And here I colored and designed the clothes. I didn’t shade here.

Repeat the same process here.

I colored the background and shaded shadows.

And that’s it, done with the background.
