My today’s illustration isn’t going to be a fun one. It’s going to be something depressing. I did this illustration because I feel like whatever I am doing isn’t going anywhere but farther and the walls around me feel like it’s getting closer. I feel depressed and don’t feel like talking about it. I also know that I am not alone and there are others who are depressed too, fighting with their own darkness. Therefore, I hope you guys stay strong. So let’s begin with my illustration. Before I start I want to let you guys know that I did this illustration in ibispaint x.
First, I started with the sketch.
Then, I colored the sketch.
I made the background black to express the darkness.
I hope you guys don’t mind. I felt like the rain was the perfect symbol to express my reeling emotions. So here it is.
Next, I added a platform to show the endless path she is walking and will be walking.
Here, I drew and colored the platform first then reduce the opacity to 50% to give a glassy platform look.
Here I drew and colored a little rectangle box at the very end of the platform to show the endless platform in the darkness. I just wanted to express how I was feeling even if I keep walking.
Next here is the last part, where added a little light to show the success or achieving close to it but in the end, it’s still far away.
