Well hello everyone! How is everyone doing? I hope you are fine.
Well, today my illustration is about a floating island in 2D version. I wanted to do this illustration in 3D but I’m still learning point of perspective which I heard would improve my 3D illustration. So for now I put 3D illustration a break or more like the learning stage and enjoy 2D illustrating. I hope you guys enjoy it too. So let’s begin and also I did this illustration in Autodesk.
Okaiee! Looks like we are going to start with an inverted poop. Haha, that’s actually the floating island base or you can say ground which I did use the color builder tool and did a zig-zag stroke.
Next is as you guys can see, it’s a tree and to draw a tree is first to draw a big fat log then extend five or four thick branches that add many squiggly lines. Next, use a charcoal tool and increase its size, then do tap tap on the center of the branches also use different light and dark to give the tree leaves a little detail.
Next is the grasses, here I used the synthetic taper tool to draw the grasses. Also if you guys have been following my post then you guys will notice that I mentioned somewhere using this same tool for making grasses. Now I don’t know which one. Hehe. Anyways here also I used the same method of light and dark shades of green to give the depth in details.
Then as you guys can see I gave a little glitter. Now Autodesk doesn’t have any kind of glitter tools but you guys can do it manually. First, put the layer in glow effect then use a pen tool and tap around and also change the size so you can give the glitter effect. Now it looks magical.
A little detail to the tree on a magical island if you guys don’t mind. I did this using the neon pen tool.
And a little more.
Next, the island looks lonely so I added someone. First the sketch of course then I colored.
Now if any of you guys ever wanted to draw thunder in digital illustration. Behold the tutorial for making thunder. First, make a scribbled zig-zag line as I did in the first image above. Then make the curves bolder or thicker or fatter as you wish. Next, add the smoke of the thunder, and to do that use an airbrush.
Next to give the thunder more depth add darkness. Of course, where there is light, there is shadow also. And that’s the end of it.
