Ok, the dust has settled, hype has moved on to something else, shelves have been restocked, additional copies circulated, and the secondary y market’s comic book pump and dumps have dissipated. Let’s look at July 17, 2019’s comic book releases and see if there is anything of value that I (or perhaps you) might be interested in purchasing for the long haul.
GI Joe A Real American Hero 256 C Cover Sean Beck
Retailing at $8.50 USD the week of, one solid sale is at $14 USD. This 1:10 ratio is now for sale for $22 USD.
Glow 4 B Cover Nicoletta Baldari
There is no sales data for this one right now, but one listing at $44 USD. Not a bad return on a $4 face value comic book (if you were so fortunate). I’ll pass, however.
Powers of X B Cover Mark Brooks
This connecting set was $12 USD the day of; today, expect to pay +$ 40 USD for the set. The undying lure of the X-Men franchise, I guess.
Powers of X E Cover Joshua Cassara
Also $6 USD the day, now fetching $8 – 12 USD a piece.
Gutt Ghost Till We Meet Again 1
I wanted this Scout release, but had zero chance the day of its release. This issue seems to be holding in the $10 USD – 15 USD range.
Love She Offered 1
This one retailed at $4.99 USD, but is holding resale value around $14-15 USD. I smell movie (or something else live action.)
My Pick for the Week
This is the one a) I didn’t get but b) will get. Easy enough, yes?
No surprise here, and it didn’t meet the criteria above (+25% of ratio’s cover price) but I am going to target :
Canto 2 B Cover Morgan Beem
This one would have cost $20 USD the day of its release; today, the price is around $18 USD for this 1:10 Morgan Beem ratio. I’m adding this one to my secondary market watch list (don’t worry; I’m not mentioning anything about the Gnostics here again!)
