Ok, the dust has settled, hype has moved on to something else, shelves have been restocked, additional copies circulated, and the secondary y market’s comic book pump and dumps have dissipated. Let’s look at July 17, 2019’s comic book releases and see if there is anything of value that I (or perhaps you) might be interested in purchasing for the long haul.
Rules of thought: the goal of this post is to highlight comic books with resale value at least 25% greater than cover price.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sound Off 1 B Cover George Caltsoudas
You could have grabbed this one for $12 USD online, if you had been savvy; one recent sale is at $31 USD, and new listings are in the + $50 USD. I’ll pass, thank you.
Age of Conan Belit Queen of the Black Coast 5 C Cover Jenny Frison
One that we should probably have picked up for $25 USD that week. Current sales are in the upper $45 – 55 USD range. I like Frison’s work quite a bit, but I’ll pass on this one too.
House of X 1 A Cover Pepe Larraz
Now on to the House of X titles.
This one is selling in the $13-14 USD range.
B Cover Mark Brooks
This is in the $25 USD range.
D Cover Sara Pichelli
In the $10-12 USD range.
E Cover Marco Checchetto
Also in the $10-12 USD range.
G Cover Humberto Ramos
And finally in the $10 – 12 USD range. All of these were selling at $5.99 cover price.
Magnificent Ms Marvel 5
This one could be bought at $3.99 cover, but is reselling for $10 – 20 USD currently. I might try to get this one for my daughter.
Personally, I'm staying away from X, but if I could get a copy of the Ms Marvel @ $10 USD, I might do that for my daughter's collection.
