Ok, the dust has settled, hype has moved on to something else, shelves have been restocked, additional copies circulated, and the secondary y market’s comic book pump and dumps have dissipated. Let’s look at July 17, 2019’s comic book releases and see if there is anything of value that I (or perhaps you) might be interested in purchasing for the long haul.

Featuring the Silver Surfer versus Knull, this ratio’s recent sales are anywhere from $15 -55 USD, depending on the comic’s condition. NM’s are currently for sale +$50USD. Another one I had no chance at, and one I probably won’t go after given current prices.

This one you could have gotten the week of online for $22 USD; sales went as high as $51 USD around the time of the release, then down to $40USD, and now in the $45 USD. If you are an Elvira fan, you probably already own it, and it looks like it’s holding a good value over base price.

Another one with a base price of $3.99 USD; sales earlier in August were in the $20-22 USD range. Price has slipped a bit; if you didn’t get that week, you can expect to pay $18 USD currently for this one. Again, value seems to be holding at +x4 base price.

Of note, this one features the first appearance of the new character Star; value should hold on this fact alone.

Earlier in the month, sales for this $3.99 USD issue were in the $18-25 USD range. You can now get a copy online in the range of $25 – 40 USD. It’s a cool Carnage cover, but I’ll pass at these prices.

This one was going for $13 USD the week of; do you like it? I do, quite a bit. Did I have a chance at this one at my LCS? Of course not. Did I think to buy this one in time at $13 USD online? Why no, why would I?

Today, sales are in the $50-60 USD range. I’m going to call that a fail on my end, as I would have loved to have gotten this one for my daughter. If I can somehow manage to snag this at $25 USD with shipping, I’ll do it; but that’s the extent of my budget right now for this one.

I don’t know anything about this series, but this issue has the attention of collectors. The base price was $7.99 USD, yet today you get to pay over $20 USD to get a copy of this one.

Again, I doubt I will get this one, but if some way, shape, or form price can get in the $25 USD range over time, I'll be picking this one up for my daughter's future collection. I love the idea of Marvel confronting from some ghastly cosmic horror, adrift the ocean of the Universe, defending the Earth below. The cover art, I think, is gorgeous.

As always, thanks for reading, and let me know what I missed...or maybe let me know what you got and have from that week that I didn't have a chance at. I love misery.

Good luck again today as you head out for NCBD today...there are a lot of gems out there I hope you are able to get.
