Ok, the dust has settled, hype has moved on to something else, shelves have been restocked, additional copies circulated, and the secondary y market’s comic book pump and dumps have dissipated. Let’s look at July 17, 2019’s comic book releases and see if there is anything of value that I (or perhaps you) might be interested in purchasing for the long haul.
Batman 77 Tony Daniel and Clayton Crain Covers
No real surprise here, is there? I am still hoping for the General Hospital surprise, but maybe King isn’t going to do that?
Prices have come way down since this first was released; you can spend around $10-15 USD to get the Daniel A Cover. Crain’s cover is going for $7 USD. I love Crain, but I think he saved his better stuff for Marvel that week (sorry Clayton, I still love your Justice League Dark work!!)
Red Sonja Birth of She-Devil 3 Lucio Parrillo Virgin
Did you get this one on the cheap a few Wednesdays ago? I did not. I could have spent $15 USD the week of on-line; today, you get to spend over $30 USD for this one.
House of X 2 2nd Print Pepe Larraz
This one is holding solid value of roughly twice its original cover price of 5 USD. Better than Litecoin??
Powers of X 3 C Cover Bengal Variant
A cover price of $5 USD, this very nice looking cover is fetching +$15 USD currently in secondary sales.
Powers of X 3 E Cover Dustin Weaver
A $5 USD cover price getting over $10 USD currently…everyone loves X.
Powers of X 3 F Cover Skottie Young
And this one is getting between $10 USD - $15 USD online…sigh. Where oh where are my DC books on this list?
Powers of X 3 G Cover Mike Huddleston
Not here either. If you are into collecting these, you can spend another +$10 USD for this one.
Dead End Kids 2
I haven’t read this one yet, but it looks “hot” yet. The $4 USD cover price is pushing $15 - $20 USD online. I’m guessing there is a movie in the works? Or a new Hulu show? Or both??
Tony Stark Iron Man 15 C Cover Jim Cheung
With a $4 USD cover price, this one is trending over $10 USD too.
Another week finished. If anything, I might try to get another copy of Batman if I can. Otherwise, if I can get this Ghost-Spider for my daughter's collection :
For something less than $20 USD, I'm doing that. Wish me luck - oh yeah, I wish you all the best of luck too!
