Keeping up with my hike a day while on vacation, today's adventure was a brisk hike to and back along the Caribou River. Just off of Highway 61, yet again, this trail is about 3/4 of a mile to get to yet another spectacular waterfall basin.

To begin this adventure, I scrambled to the top of the falls; the trail is actually part of the larger network of trails called the Superior Hiking Trail. Lots of pine trees and birch trees to keep one company.

At the top of the falls was an epic view of Lake Superior and the massive forest below:

So it was down to the basin for some more waterfall beauty, North Shore style:

The number of waterfalls in this area is unreal. The ability to have access to them is unreal too; you literally can drive in your car every 15-30 minutes north or south on Highway 61, pull over, and find waterfalls letting the water make its way to Lake Superior. Even waterfalls inland a bit require, at most, a modest hike. Everything is a day hike, at best, and if you are hungry for more, the Superior Hiking Trail is always around the corner.

If you are waterfall kind of person, I can't recommend this area any more than I already have. So if you aren't tired of reading about it this week, I once more highly recommend all to visit this special area of the world. Sure, the mosquitoes can be bad, especially at night, but it's worth it. And don't forget, the vastness and magic of Superior are always around, too.

Another day, another hike; vacation goals being met! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look once again.
