I'm a bit behind, but here was my #beersaturday from this past weekend. It was another double IPA from beloved Toppling Goliath from Iowa, and, well...
I'm not going to lie; this isn't my cup of tea. It looks like a hazy; cloudy and citrusy in nose. It's strong; 8% ABV with a 100 IBU count. Again, it's not the booze taste that's the problem, it's just that the beer tastes off. The tropical smell and taste is there, but it tastes a blunt...almost dull (and no, I don't have COVID, if you are curious.)
I don't know if it is the high ABV and galaxy hops that aren't jiving together or what, but untappd's data suggests this is a 4.12 / 5.00 beer. I respectfully had to disagree, and give this one 3.75.
Not bad, but not overly fantastic either. I'd give it another shot next batch, but to be honest, would go with another one of their beers over this one.
