For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a, I decided to break out my fire-glo Rickenbacker for an improv jam session with Hattie. We bought a Loog three-string guitar for her for Christmas that happened to be red, so I told her I'd bring out my red guitar too. Thank goodness I kept this sweet Rickey...
I bought this guitar in 2001. I saved up about $1200 USD back then and promised myself I'd buy this guitar as a college graduation present for myself. I always wanted to go with the black Rickenbacker, as that was the one that Lennon always used, but I couldn't say no to that red color. It's such a beautiful guitar.
I always wanted to get a Vox amplifier for this one but ended up with a cheaper Peavy. Regardless, we had to rock out today. I played a little bit of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Hold Me Tight. I mean, I couldn't NOT play some early Beatles with Hattie today, right?
I know, not as exciting as pictures of snow, but it was too cold to be outside today. It was the perfect day to sit inside and jam a bit. Ms. Mabel wasn't a fan, but she'll get there. I mean, I had a slight hangover after last night's Green Bay travesty, and I could handle the noise.
The dueling red guitars...a fun adventure today, even though it lasted only about 10 minutes. It worked! Hopefully, everyone else had a wonderful #sublimesunday too! Until next weekend, we'll try to stay warm here!
