A Sublime Sunday Over the Quarry

For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a, we returned to the quarry that we visited last weekend. This Sunday, however, proved to have better weather. High sun, warm temperatures, and very little wind...which meant, it was time to break out the new drone!

I bought the Mavic Mini a bit ago thanks to the advice of @nocontextphotos , and today was the day I let it rip while out and about. The area is rich with diverse vegetation and plants, so I thought today would be a good day to get some shots from high above.

As expected, the noise of the drone caught the attention of most hikers, but most didn't seem to mind. Most, in all honesty, were more curious about it than bothered by it. Which was cool...I sometimes get bothered when someone flies a drone overhead.

The Mavic is a lot of fun; it's not YouTube van lifer quality, but I like it. Just flying it over the trails and whatnot was a lot of fun. Today, the quarry..tomorrow, Everest! Just kidding.

There is an overshot photo of the two pilots in action. My goodness, I need t lose some weight, lol! My daughter kept it cool, however, as she enjoyed the rock, it's subtle coolness and the scenes below.

All in all, it was a perfect #sublimesunday morning. More importantly, it was fun to get some legs flying the drone. I'm sure there are more photos I will share on Hive in no time.
