This is about last weekend where me and hubby had one more overnight outing . I had mentioned earlier about how we have these summer offers here in Muscat to all of these resorts and hotels which is kind of a steal deal. They come up with these offers between May to July and normally they are valid to use till end of September or October. Me and hubby every year we do take up couple of these vouchers. We avoid using it in summer since it's too hot to step out and it's not much of fun then. Even evenings are not very pleasant. Mid Sept to end Oct is still a decent time to use.
Before our vouchers expire now, we have been using them back-to-back since the past 3 weeks. The first one was the Sheraton one, which was actually a completely free one received from hubby's office as a gift and the second one we had purchased for Hilton. They had a full board offer and extended check-in and checkout time as well. This resort was previously Shangri-La resort, but Shangri-La exited over a year back and it has been taken over by Hilton. To promote their newly acquired property, they are coming up with some amazing deals.
Nevertheless, the better the offer the more crowd is also expected. We were offered check-in time of 11 a.m., instead of their normal 2 p.m. and their normal check-out time is 12 p.m., which they offered us to check-out at 4 p.m. Whichh is really a good deal. We had reached by 11:15 and the lobby was full. The executives at the check-in desk are surely not trained well enough to handle the pressure. Everyone was waiting and had some or the other complaint. For us, we had booked a sea-facing room with extra payment. At check-in they informed us that sea-facing is not available.
Hubby is not the person who gives in easily in these matters. After a lot of argument and a waiting of almost 1 hour we got our sea-facing rooms. We were 3 families so it must have been a challenge to do it for them as well, but they did it. Which only made me wondered, why did they refuse in the first place. By the time we got all the rooms, it was almost 2 p.m. which is the normal check-in time, so the easily check-in benefit did not help us much. Nevertheless, after the check-in, rest of all was very smooth, and we had an amazing time.
