For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a , I wanted to share a few images of the shoreline of Lake Superior. More to come on this adventure this week, but I had to get a few photos of the beautiful rocks on the shoreline. Trust me, after today's drive, this was a much need "Sublime Sunday" experience....
This is the third summer we've visited the area as a family. We fell in love with the north shore a few years ago while visiting Duluth, Minnesota. If we had the ability, we'd live here year-round (well, maybe year-round...winter might be too brutal even for me!)
We have plenty of adventures ahead in the coming week. Agate hunting, lighthouse visiting, rock collecting, and maybe a few waterfalls here and there if possible. Oh, and some local beer tastings, some local fish dinners, and if it clears up, some astrophotography photos...we're in dark sky territory, after all!
Today though, after the car ride, is all about relaxing and enjoying the beauty of Lake Superior. Putting the feet in the lake and skipping rocks. Not a bad Sunday afternoon.
The rocks up here have some serious prehistoric history...the colors and textures are always fantastic on the beaches up here. Who needs sand, anyway?
Day one of vacation in the books; this one is all the worst (and the best) given the travel time, and the eventual end at the location. At the very least, we get to spend quality time together away from work... and you can't beat that...
Thanks, as always, for stopping by and checking out my work. More to come, as mentioned, this coming week. Hoping everyone, as always, had a wonderful #sublimesunday too!
