For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by 
With colder temperatures and dull skies back in the area, I wanted to skip today's adventure. Yesterday had warm temperature melting away most of the snow. Today was so cold, windy, and miserable with temperatures below freezing. March is always day to day over here.
From what I can find online, the bridge was built in 1939. The type of bridge it is happens to be called a cantilever style bridge. It's an iconic piece of architecture that millions of people have crossed over through its history on the river. It's been a historic marker on the river for years...definitely one of the better Mississippi River bridges to be able to visit (if you are into that type of thing!)
I wanted to scale the old stairways to get a few photos of the ice on the river, too. Unfortunately, luck was not on my side today as the stairwell and sidewalk above were closed off. I imagine the ice and cold weather today had a bit to do with that.
So I ended up playing it safe. I grabbed a few photos from below and took in the cold wind from the West. Although the sun wasn't out, it was a good #sublimesunday adventure yet again.
