13 days ago I made a tomato seedbed in eggshells. These shells are biodegradable. As they decompose, they release calcium and other nutrients (magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium) into the soil, helping plants to grow strong and healthy.
My tomato seedlings are developing very well, they already have their first leaves, so it is time to transplant them into a larger pot so that their roots can develop. For this procedure I bought a plastic pot, it was very economical, light and, therefore, easy to transport or change places.
Transplanting the plants is very beneficial for the roots, the ideal is to do it in the shade to protect their roots from direct light.. Transplanting is generally implemented when the pot is very small, when the soil is too washed and poor in nutrients, or when the plants have grown enough and need to be planted outdoors.
We need:
1 pot.
Fertilized land.
Eggshells.
Garlic grinder.
Seedlings of tomate.
Water.
Step 1: The first thing to do is add the fertilized soil in the pot.
Step 2: We make holes in the land. We break the eggshells a little with our hands and then place them in the holes. We cover with the same soil.
Step 3: We crush the eggshells and add it around the plant.
Step 4: We add water.
Step 5: Finally we put the flower pot in a cool place, I decided to put it in the window, and every day we must irrigate with water.
Not only can we add eggshells, we can also add other waste from our kitchen, such as: coffee (erases it), banana, potato and carrot shells. It is incredible that where many people see garbage, others can see an additional contribution of nutrients for the earth.
