Farmstall stop:

20211217-152213.jpg

The people who are following my posts will know that my wife and I were on our way to the coast, taking the longer road, but also at the same time stopping more frequently.

One of our stops was at a farmstall between the two small Karoo towns, 0f Aberdeen and Willowmore. In the past we had many farmstalls next to the road, mainly selling farm products. Today there are less, but some of them has evolved, becoming much bigger and selling a large variety of goods, and at most you can now stop for coffee and something to eat.

We stopped for coffee and roosterkoek!! Roosterkoek is a type of bread, grilled over an open fire!! If you translate the word directly it becomes Rooster=Grill, Koek=Cake, thus grilledcake!!

This farmstall also had a lot of other stuff they were selling, as can be seen on the photos, the place is quite cluttered!!

On our way back from the coast, I had to stop here again as my wife decided she needed the blue handbag, in the first photo, hanging behind my head!! She is loving her new handbag!!

Our next stop on this journey would be the Royal Hotel in Willowmore, but more on that in my next post.

This is my contribution to #marketfriday as presented by dswigle@dswigle why don't you head over and post on a market near you?

I hope you liked the post as much as I liked writing it.

I hope you have a wonderful day!!
