LoL I can say being specifically asked not to look over a kid's shoulder is not something I've ever been asked XD
I was that horrible neglectful parent who was pacing my kids under the play equipment when they were toddlers instead of following directly behind with arms stretched out to catch them immediately if they fell (they were all clothybutts so plenty of padding and they learned to collapse onto their nice protected butts REALLY fast) and monitoring from 2-5 seconds (at my sprinting distance at the time) away when they were a little bit older and happy to move further and further away til they eventually got to about 6-8 and their instructions were to make sure they could see me (because they had no way of knowing if I could see them)
Yay for unexpectedly having a long fun day XD And it wasn't "doing nothing" you were spending quality time with child and maybe-friends (I wasn't too clear on whether they were your friends or just people you were hanging out with because all your kids are friends).
