It's fine if they course correct when they find out they're wrong/suboptimal which I'm sure this character will do as they seem to genuinely want to help.

Have you encountered the people that throw out "good intentions" or "they should just shut up and be grateful" with exactly no interest in course correcting when it's pointed out that whatever they're doing isn't actually helping? That's the basis of me trying not to be crotchety about it x_x
