I have a ten year old boxer, he is my old man. I love this guy with all my heart so I have to keep him healthy and pain free.
Two years ago he jumped off the couch to play with his kitty friend. Unfortunately, when he jumped I heard a big yelp and he layed down, he could not move, pretty much writhing from the pain, it was so sad. He tried to go potty and I had to carry him to the grass and back,. I was able to give him a pill from the vet a year before and was able to get him to sleep, I layed with him, after a long night at 7 am I was able to take him to the vet. I literally loaded him on a furniture dolly and put him in the car. When we got there, he got out of the car by himself, and painfully walked in, almost as if he knew it would help him. I was very worried that the pain and whatever was going on would surely seal his fate :'( After a LONG day, nervously waiting for a phone call, About 2 pm the vet called and said he was groggy after being under sedation and I could come in to speak to the vet. I drove there fast and the vet took me back to radiology to see an x-ray. On the x-ray it showed 2 vertebrae that were degenerating and almost growing together, he said it was kind of rare and aside from surgery I could not do much aside from medication, watching him closely, and maybe short walks. Kruger was prescribed rimadyl an anti-inflammatory with refills, pain pills, and steroids. In the hopes it would help. It did help after a few months following doctor's orders. I just became very aware of his hip and back.. NO more running for him like this picture here,,.
Jumping forward a year an a half, He was sore and slowing down again. Not nearly as bad so that was great, The vet looked at his previous x-rays, and we all noticed swelling on his back left hip,. He was very good for me, gave me instructions on how to help him, use it or lose it type of exercises just not to harsh on him.
He also recommended a supplement for him in a soft chew containing many vitamins focused for dogs with joint and bone issues. I must say this has been a miracle for him, His swelling went down he is moving faster and more flexible. He seems 5 years younger! (hope I didnt jinx myself, ha) Anyways this God send is called synovi G4.
It is truly a wonder, and I recommend it for any dog, especially for the older 4 legged friends! As you can see Kruger seems happy with it too!!
