Last Sunday, my husband, I and my child went for a walk to the malls in my area, namely in the city of Lhokseumawe, because there are small malls there, not malls like in big cities, and I went there and went around the mall.

My child hasn't been there to shop for a very long time, so for their sake, we’ll stop by here for a bit.

It’s called SUZUYA; if I recall correctly, this mall has been around since 2007—back when I was in junior high school. I remember that whenever school ended, my friends and I would be so excited to stop by this mall. That said, I didn’t visit very often, as I come from a modest family.

I usually only visit places like this when Eid arrives. You know, during Eid, children get gift money from adults or family members, so we end up having our own money to spend at SUZUYA.

I remember it so clearly—back when I was about 14, my friends and I went to this place; we were all in junior high at the time. One of my friends picked up some items at Suzuya and intended to pay for them, but he ended up walking right past the checkout counter—he simply hadn't noticed it! He was looking around, trying to spot where the cashier was, but he just couldn't see the counter at all, haha! Suddenly, a security guard appeared because the alarm had gone off. They thought my friend was trying to steal something, but in reality, he was just searching for the place to pay! It’s so funny whenever I think back on that story.

and finally we tried to explain to the security guard,Finally, after we explained everything at length, the security guards believed us—perhaps they saw our innocent and sincere expressions, haha! I honestly never expected that; it was such a tense moment. To be fair, we rarely go to malls—we’re usually more accustomed to going to traditional markets!

Anyway, let’s leave my past stories behind. As soon as we arrived here, my child immediately spotted so many dolls—and, as usual, asked me to buy one. I told them, "Go ahead and pick one out; we’ll buy whatever you like." To be honest, I never want my child to repeat the experiences I went through back then, which is why I often take them shopping at nice places around here—hehehe!

While I preferred to buy fresh fruits or vegetables, I found myself thinking about green grapes and mustard greens. So, I decided to purchase both—items that I happen to enjoy. Everything here is very fresh, and, in fact, all the products sold here are imported.

After picking out the fresh fruits and vegetables I wanted to buy, I headed over to the section selling clothes, shoes, and nice sandals. I didn’t intend to purchase anything, though—I was just browsing for a bit of "window shopping," haha! To be honest, I still have plenty of clothes and shoes that are in good condition and perfectly fine to wear.

I also had time to walk around and see what was there, such as shelves of cosmetics and also jewelry such as beads, children's hair ties, there were cute combs, basically there were so many cute materials that I saw there and my child would only buy hair ties, not the hair that he wanted to be cute. Okay, I just took a pair of hair ties for my child.

After that, I continued to another place that sold kitchen products such as table plates, cute plastic plates, cake molds, and basically cake making ingredients, and there were lots of things I wanted to look for here.

As I’ve wandered around a bit, I can tell you that this mall isn’t actually that big—though it’s still tiring to walk through the whole thing! It only has about four levels, so it’s nothing like the large malls you might have in your own cities. If I want to visit a major mall, I have to travel to the city of Medan, which is quite a distance from my home—about a 7 to 8-hour journey—so it’s definitely a long way off!

Well, after getting tired from walking around, we decided to pay for our purchases and look for some food and drinks—we really needed to, as we were quite hungry after spending so much time wandering around this place, hehehe.

Thank you 🙂🤗
