Previously in one of my publications I mentioned that I was born in Caracas but I did not specify in which part, in this opportunity I am going to talk about that part of Caracas that saw me grow up, "El Junquito".
The Parish "El Junquito" was created on June 8, 1987, after part of the territories of the Antímano, Macarao and Sucre parishes were ceded, at the time of the delimitation of the Libertador Municipality and Vargas Municipality, the parish lost an area that now forms the El Junko parish of Vargas Municipality. It is necessary to highlight that the town of El Junquito is divided between the Libertador Municipality and the Vargas Municipality, the town is more than 20 kilometers from Caracas and both are connected by a road; As far as the road axis is concerned, the parish extends from Kilometer 4 to Kilometer 18, from this route Parroquia El Junquito and Parroquia El Junko are shared, and Kilometer 23 is the aforementioned town.
Now that I have briefly explained what El Junquito is, I am going to tell you about my experience living there, El Junquito is a small town, so 75% of the people that live there know each other, it is a very peculiar characteristic since I remember that in my childhood when I was accompanying my mother anywhere, in that place there was always some acquaintance who settled down to talk with us.
Another thing that I remember (and that currently stands) is the cold weather, for me it is quite easy to compare El Junquito with Forks (the town where the twilight film is shot) since El Junquito is cloudy on 99.99% of the time.
