For us to calm a depressed teen, we as an adult must show love and caring to the depressed teens. Young people often face fear, pressure, and confusion, and Scripture reminds us to bear one another’s burdens.

Galatians 6:2 says, “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”

It simply means we should love and listen to them whenever they share their problems with us. Just as Jesus Christ listens to us whenever we pray to him.

It is also important to guide them toward hope in God’s promises. Depression can make a person feel alone, but the Bible assures us that God is always near. The bible tells us that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Encouraging teens to pray, read God’s Word, and trust in Him can help them find comfort and strength during difficult times.

The word of God teaches us to always speak positive into those who are depressed so that they can regain their self again. Words have power, and kind, uplifting words can help restore a troubled heart.

Proverbs 16:24 says, “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”

By surrounding depressed teens with love, support, and godly encouragement, we help them see their value and remind them that they are never alone.
