The first one used to be alone
And cherished like an only queen
For years
Not many though
Soon enough the second one came
And took a spot in everybody else's hearts
But not her big sister's
Not at once
Not at first sight
It shall take years
And tears
And hugs under the bed covers
When all the lights are off and mum and dad have gone to sleep
It shall take a lot of heartbreak
And confessions
To make her heart softer
To let her guards down
And let her younger sister in
It shall take time
But in the end
She will become her life's
Most precious
