2016 and 2017 1oz silver Chiwoo Cheonwang coins from KOMSCO South Korea.
I believe Chiwoo Cheonwang translates as King of Heaven in Korea and in China he is called Chiyou; the god of war and was leader of the Nine Li Tribe and one of the 3 founding fathers of China.
The 2017 depicts Chiwoo on horseback holding his famous shield, the detail on the horse is outstanding and has a face value of 1 Clay and a mintage of 50,000. There is no official Clay currency and people speculate to its meaning and face value, i just like to imagine it is 1 claim on a piece of land.
The 2016 has a smaller mintage of 30,000 and also has a face value of 1 Clay. The coin shows Chiwoo stood ready for battle holding his shield and lance and a very fancy bollock protector.
The face of the coin has Chewoos famous and happy looking shield that have dokkaebi inscribed into it which are mythological goblins that are scamps that like to play tricks on humans, the little bastards. The face also has a cool anti counterfit device rotating between 999 and AG depending what angle you look at it.
Very cool coins and as a collection still in its infancy, i can imagine these coins getting an annual release for many years to come all showing Chiwoo in different battle poses and definately worth collecting.
