Here you can see previous steps of this design. In this part we are gonna cut the design and begin assembling. This project took me 4 days from design to finish. I still have couple of problems I need to fix. Version two of this piece will be better at assembling. I'll design more parts to be used in harmony with the main piece.

Some parts need to be combined into one part. It was a struggle to glue all the little pieces though it was really fun. After working as a designer the laser cutting industry for more than 5 years I am still amazed to see real life version of my digital modellings. Its a feeling I cant describe ^^ Being able to hold the design I made on the computer is pure joy.
Drawers turned out really good. They are so cute little drawers. My painting bottles are square I made this design specifically the paint brand I am using. The compartments can be circle for the cylindrical bottles in the future. Or I'll add secondary line for different shaped bottles.
The idea is to have everything I need while making craft / painting models in my arms reach. Having an organized art station feels good. Give me more motivation to do it and try to be better at it everyday. As a colorblind artist, I need this little motivations to go on with colors in real life. I can't right click and see R G B numbers to understand what color it is in real life. Its a struggle but a pleasant one I hope ^^
Laser cutting
For this step I layout each pieces by hand as close as they get, leaving 1 mm space between pieces. The wood is not cheap in my area so I need to save space to make the final product cheaper. The board is 75x150cm. My layout is 61x61cm so it doesnt take up space as much. I operate the machine by myself. Those metal bars are there as a weight. The board isnt perfectly flat. For a clean cut across the whole piece the board must be stay flat on the surface.

Assembly
Oooh this is the fun part. Seeing all the pieces piled on the table I was thinking how am i gonna put them all together ! They look identical to each other ! oh god what have I done. But as I am the designer of the piece I memorized each piece and its unique features as I design. So it didnt caused any problem as much as I thought it would be. Some pieces are almost the same except 1.5mm short on one side. But I perfectly know why it is and how it should be used. At first I cheat a little bit and look at the 3D model to see the correct shaped piece not gonna lie here ^^
At this stage my superglue is no more :( I had to contuniue with PVA wood glue which does not stick the pieces as quickly as the former. After waiting a little while it works just fine. Not the mention they are stronger with the wood glue.
