For this tutorial i am gonna make a hexagon pillar. You can chose different shapes as a base for your own design. This method is so easy you wont belive your eyes i am sure ^^ All we need to do is determine height of the pillar and outside silhouette of the shape.
Find the center of the hexagon and draw a line with pencil tool. This line length will be our pillar's height. We only need to draw the half of the silhouette so lets make a plane with pencil tool.
So far so good. Lets draw our pillars outline. For this example I made a ridiculous design to show you the possibilities. Experiment with different shapes, look at real life examples and try your own design. I am sure you will love it.
From this remove the unnecessary lines that we dont need with eraser tool. With the "follow me" tool click on the surface and it will follow the bottom shape and make you a beautiful pillar ^^ This is a good method for your Tabletop Game Diaromas. its an excelent way to 3D print different type of pillars for your game.
