So for some people, this might be the first time they are actually participating in an airdrop/claim drop. For me, this is my first time, nope second time. The first one I participated in was with Luna Classic and Luna 2.0. It happened that just as Luna Classic was falling I thought I could get the chance to trade and get a lot of profits but the market had other plans and I just couldn’t get my money out in time before the price took the final hit.
So it happened that I had to just leave the assets in there which qualified me for the airdrop of new tokens.
So for the new token, the first airdrop amount was a lot and then going forward it was reduced drastically up until December. I think the final airdrop will be in this month and then we are good to go. We’ve had close to a whole year of Luna 2.0 airdrop. Most of the lunc I bought was in houbi pro so I got the airdrops there.
What am I driving at?
A lot of people who have never been in this kind of situation or don’t know about this are surprised that the APR is changing (decreasing) so fast. They thought the APR for let’s say liquidity was going to stay at 8000% forever. In some situations some even think that the claim drop is going to be there forever; even after the game is launched.
That’s not going to happen. The game is about to be released and as such the APRs need to go down so fast until the game is released. What some people don’t realize is that the $zing is supposed to be an in-game currency which will be used to perform actions(buy and sell) stuff in the game.
Just like in spl, we have Dec and sps which are used for purchasing in-game assets on spl. With the staking rewards am not sure it will be taken out but am sure the APR will be reduced to a reasonable amount when the game is finally launched.
Firstly there are games like Terracore which do not provide scrap for staking but there are some benefits to staking scrap. Another one is sps which allows users to earn sps rewards for staking sps in the game.
With zing when the game is finally laughed the claim drop will be stopped totally. So what does this mean for Zing?
There will be more ways we can earn zing according to the gameplay. Some of them are described below;
Tournaments are an essential part of gaming whether it’s a play2earn game or a normal web2 game. I’ve come to realize that with game tournaments play is an essential part of the game as the users are engaged with the game and what better way to enjoy it than when you can win prizes as well?
In holozing, this will be made possible when the game is finally launched, players will get distributed zing tokens for participating in tournaments and also according to their ranks and titles in those tournaments.
We’ve seen this type of thing happen in a game like Spl, terracore and others where the end-of-season leaders are rewarded with Dec or scrap at the end of the season for being the best players in that season.
We are seeing this type of idea get implemented with land on splinterlands. Just that with spl us slightly different; for now. I say for now because the full details for this have not been disclosed for holozing so it might be that it’ll end up functioning the same way land is functioning on spl.
So with holozing, when the game is launched players will have the chance to earn zing according to their creature collection, the amount of creatures or the type of creatures they have caught and also how rare they are in the game.
For now, we don’t know what the creatures are even though we have a sneak peek of 4 of the creatures. But what I can best tell is that the more rare your creature is the more zing you’ll end up getting.
In-game professions is a new one for me.
Hmmm; with this am slightly confused cause I think this is the first play2earn game I’ve seen that rewards players for having certain professions.
I hope this will be a great addition.
In-game items and gear will get distributed zing tokens as well. With the in-game items and gear am sure it’ll be based on how rare the gear or item is, I don’t think every item or in-game asset will get distributed zing.
I know with Spl players get some airdrop when they hold certain items but then not all assets in the game earn SPS or Dec.
In-game achievements would always end up giving users some amount of zing. This is happening with every game out there, ones that are not play2earn and ones that are play2earn. There is always a way of rewarding players for reaching certain heights in the game and this is one thing that motivates players to do more.
So now that you know what will be happening when the game is launched is hope you are trying your best to earn more zing as possible before the game is launched. For some people, this might be the only way they’ll earn zing right before the game is released so I urge you to do your best and earn as much as possible.
This will help you appreciate the game when it’s finally released.
Thank you.
