BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge

RULESET: Holy Protection

Description:

All units gain the Divine Shield ability which reduces the damage of the first attack received to 0.
Divine Shield will be re-applied when a unit is Resurrected.
Blast damage will remove Divine Shield.

In battles with the Holy Protection Ruleset, all Monsters have the Divine Shield Ability. Monsters with the Divine Shield Ability are ignored the first time they take damage. That's why The Divine Shield Ability is really a ability that can be very effective in battles, and fighting and dealing with a team equipped with the Divine Shield Ability can be quite difficult.

I would also like to point out that Lorna Shine is a Summoner that gives Divine Shield Ability to all friendly Monsters. I don't have this card yet, but I would love to add this card to my deck in the future because it's really hard to fight against this Summoner. If I feel that all Monsters on the opposing team will have the Divine Shield Ability, I will focus on attacking a single enemy target instead of attacking different targets, and I will determine my strategy accordingly. In other words, if I feel that all Monsters in the opposing team will have the Divine Shield Ability, I either target the enemy Monster in the first position or target the enemy Monster in the last position, I think it is easier to destroy the enemies this way. I'd also like to point out that scattering attacks against Monsters with the Divine Shield Ability may not work very well.

In short, when I'm going to fight against Lorna Shine, or in battles with the Holy Protection Ruleset, I usually use Ranged Attack Monsters or Magic Attack Monsters or Monsters with the same ability, such as Sneak Ability, Snipe Ability, Opportunity Ability, but I can set different strategies according to the ruleset of the battle and according to the opponent.

Frankly, I like battles with the Holy Protection Ruleset because I can win more than 75% of such battles, so I would love to have Lorna Shine Summoner Card and aim to add it to my deck soon.

Brief Descriptions of the Abilities I Mentioned Above

  • Divine Shield Ability : The first time the Monster takes damage it is ignored.
  • Sneak Ability : Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.
  • Snipe Ability : Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
  • Opportunity Ability : Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.

Let's examine the Holy Protection Ruleset in a battle.

MY STRATEGY

Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player, I saw that the opposing player had quite powerful cards compared to my deck. And I knew I was going to be fighting a level 6 or level 3 legendary Summoner in this battle, so I needed a better strategy. And according to the ruleset of the battle, all monsters in this battle would have the Blast Ability, the Return Fire Ability, and the Divine Shield Ability. It would be unwise to use Ranged Attack Monsters in such a battle, so I would choose Magic Attack Monsters, but I would definitely use a Monster with Martyr Ability.

I knew that this battle would be very difficult for me and I believed that a Gladiator card would increase my chances of winning in this battle, especially I thought that Captain Katie with the Snipe Ability could be very effective in this battle. Because in such a battle, Captain Katie could cause 3 enemy monsters to be damaged in a single attack. And I will put a Monster with the Martyr Ability next to Captain Katie. In the first position I will put the Imperial Knight with the Void Ability and the Heal Ability, and in the second position I will put the Pelacor Conjurer with the Magic Reflect Ability. It would be better to use the Reflection Shield Ability to the second position, but I believed the Magic Reflect Ability could be more useful. Also, the Amplify Ability could be very useful in a battle like this, but unfortunately I didn't have many options. And I thought Adelade Brightwing with Resurrect Ability and Repair Ability might be useful to the team in this battle, so I added it to the team as well. And finally, I added Djinn Renova with Strengthen Ability to increase the health of all monsters in the team by +1, also Djinn Renova is a monster that can attack targets very powerfully.

Descriptions of the Abilities I Mentioned Above

  • Blast Ability : Does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster.
  • Return Fire Ability :
  • Divine Shield Ability : The first time the Monster takes damage it is ignored.
  • Snipe Ability : Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
  • Martyr Ability : When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats.
  • Void Ability : Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health.
  • Heal Ability : Restores a portion of the Monster's health each round.
  • Reflection Shield Ability : This Monster doesn't take damage from Blast, Magic Reflect, Thorns, or Return Fire.
  • Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker.
  • Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1.
  • Resurrect Ability : When a friendly Monster dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle.
  • Repair Ability : Restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage.
  • Strengthen Ability : All friendly Monsters have increased Health.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

Battle Link

In the first round, the opposing team's attacks were much more effective, but since Chaos Dragon hit the Magic Reflect Ability, Captain Katie's attack was quite effective. Also, despite Venari Marksrat having the Divine Shield Ability, Uraeus managed to poison it. No monsters were destroyed in either team in the first round, as all Monsters have the Divine Shield Ability.

Round 2

round2.png

Although the opposing team was quite powerful, their attacks were not very effective because they attacked scattered, but the attacks of Chaos Dragon and Captain Katie were quite effective, and they caused 3 Monsters to take damage when they hit their targets. But I think Snipe Ability is more effective than Scattershot Ability in such battles.

Round 3

round3.png

While Monsters on the opposing team has more armor, their health was significantly reduced, so I like to use Magic Attack Monsters in these types of battles.

Early in the third round, the opposing team was attacking quite effectively and Captain Katie's poisoning was not good at all, lowering my hopes of winning the battle. But Captain Katie was so enraged that her revenge was just as brutal.

Just when I started to lose my hopes of winning the battle, it was admirable that Captain Katie destroyed 3 monsters in one hit. That was really amazing so I'm a big fan of Captain Katie. After Captain Katie's amazing attack, only Djinn Biljka remained in the opposing team and it was not too difficult to destroy it.

round33.png

Although the battle had 39 mana and all monsters had the Divine Shield Ability, it only lasted 3 rounds, showing that both players had a pretty good strategy, so the battle was really tough and very competitive. My team was able to win this pretty tough battle as my strategy worked better. Honestly, it's been one of my most exciting and toughest battles in recent times, and I'm happy to have won such a tough battle. I recommend you to watch this amazing and quite challenging battle from the Battle Link. I hope you will like it.
