Thanks to @boxcarblue for introducing me to #TTT and
@ablaze for dreaming it up.
This week I went all over the board for tunes. Bringing you online with the first tune, taking off with the second tune, and landing smooth with the third. I used to be a DJ after all so programming is important. Let's get on with it!
My first tune by one of the 80's best bands, Men At Work's "It's A Mistake". Everyone keeps pushing us to the brink instead of saying It's a mistake, let's come to the table. Where are the doves?
From Oz to the Kiwi's, let's lighten up the mood. This tune and video bring back memories. The video was filmed in Tokyo and at a bar I've been to several times, Bar Asyl, now defunct. I knew Abe-chan the owner. I even accidentally knocked over his computer playing music one time. He made a delicious homemade whisky and his bar was always fun, but it's gone now due to COVID. At least we have the awesome memories and video!
The tune perfectly fits with the video, the dreams, the lights, the glamour. New Zeland's Shapeshifter is still one of my favorite bands and P. Diggs is a damn good vocalist. Enjoy!
Rounding out the night for all you night owls, this one helped me get through 7 days of COVID jail in Japan in Jan. 2022! The one and only Frank Sinatra's "One For My Baby" (Live At Royal Festival Hall / 1962)
That performance by Sinatra made me realize he was an absolute genius not only with his voice, but his delivery of each word. An absolute one of a kind. We need more like him now more than ever.
Anyway, signing off until next week.... from Tokyo!
Thanks for reading!
