A few years ago a buddy and I were talking about going in together on buying some land way out in the desert as a vacation spot. Somewhere we could off road, camp with the families, shoot, rock hound! Then my wife and I decided to move back to Japan. But the idea has always stuck in my head.
Now with bitcoin trending up I'm looking for a plot near to where I go hunt for minerals in Utah and finding there is a lot of cheap land out there!
Keep in mind when you are looking at these posts I know all the areas as I have driven through them, hunted around them many times. Also, I won't be living there, just somewhere familiar to set up camp.

This is located out near a town called Beryl, yes named after the gemstone found in the nearby hills. Beryl is an ok location. It's near Iron Mountain deposits, Cedar City, Milford and a lot closer to Topaz Mountain than California.
This area seems like it has a lot of plots for sale. It's fairly remote which may be a good thing if the craziness continues.

The plot was 20 acres right next to the Mineral Mountains and on a hydrothermal spot that produces Bacon Opal! The Mineral Mountains produce awesome amethyst and smokey quartz as well as beryl. It's about 1.5 hours from Topaz mountain and 45min to Cedar City, Iron Mountain deposits. Someone, probably a cattle rancher, got a nice deal on this land for $8,200.00.
I'll keep looking as I watch bitcoin go up and my investment gets bigger. Maybe I'll be able to build my citadel in the near future!
