While most of us are thinking aliens will out themselves or the simulation will glitch back to reality today on 2-22-22, Japan is instead celebrating with those ungrateful, furniture destroying, hair ball spewing, cats.
Why is 2-22-22 cat day in Japan you ask? Well 2 is spoken as "ni" which translates to Ni-Yan which is what Japanese say cats say when they meow, nyan. So, today is super cat day, because 2(nyan)-22(nyannyan)-22(nyannyan).
What better way to celebrate nyan cat day (Neko no Hi) than by creating a plethora of cat sweets?
There is even a bakery in Harajuku that only sells cat themed baked goods, like Cat shaped loaves of bread or slices of it.
One of the hosts decorated these for his daughter.
I think I'm gonna run up to the local bakery and see if I can pick some up.
I have to be honest though, with crypto dumping, inflation skyrocketing and war looming, it's refreshing to bring some humor to our lives to keep us from cracking up. So enjoy your 2-22-22 along with Japan, Nyan day and some cat memes!
